My name is Savion Brooks. I am Jamaican and not too long ago moved to the U.S. I like playing football, but not American football because I am bad at it. I am enjoying my time in the U.S. It’s very fun attending Uncommon Bed-Stuy East Middle. 

I am a proud member of a program called BK2BAMA. I have made friends in this program. With BK2BAMA, my friends and I will go to Alabama and Georgia to learn more about history, especially the Civil Rights Movement.

I want to go to Alabama because I want to meet famous historians and historical figures to learn about the work they have done over the years and how it helped Black people. I especially want to meet Barbara Barge to learn about how harsh the responses to the Selma to Montgomery Marches were.
